Freshman Academic Scholarships

The Scholars PLUS Award

  • Students with a 33-36 ACT/1450-1600 RSAT and a 3.7 GPA will receive tuition, full housing, and meal plan

The Scholars Award

  • Students with a 30-32 ACT/1360-1440 RSAT and a 3.7 GPA will receive tuition and basic housing

The Chancellor's Scholarship

  • The award amount varies from $6,000- $10,000 annually
  • Requirements are 26-29 ACT / 1230-1350 RSAT and 3.5 GPA

The Trojan Leadership Scholarship

  • The award amount varies from $2,000- $4,000 annually
  • Requirements are 20-25 ACT or/ 1030-1220 RSAT with 3.0 GPA

TROY Legacy Scholarship

  • This is a one-time $1,000 award and is non-renewable
  • Requirements are 3.0 GPA/4.0 scale and at least 20 ACT/1030 RSAT
  • Applicants must have a parent/grandparent that is a member of the National Alumni Association and/or a local Alumni Chapter

Sunshine Scholars Award

  • This award varies from $1,000 -$2,000 and is renewable for 4 years with a 2.7 GPA
  • Must be a high school student from the state of Florida or Georgia
  • Requirements are 3.0 GPA/4.0 scale and at least 20 ACT/1030 RSAT

The Sorrell Scholars Award

The Sorrell College of Business, in conjunction with the TROY Office of Admissions, seeks to identify and enroll academically superior students who plan to pursue the undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics or Global Business. Through the Sorrell Scholars Program, five entering freshmen will be named each year with the distinction of being a Sorrell Scholar. Sorrell Scholars will be selected out of The Scholars Award recipients. Sorrell Scholars will serve as student ambassadors for the Sorrell College of Business and be exposed to many of the operational aspects of the College.

Sorrell Scholars will receive additional scholarship monies through an endorsement from Sorrell College in the amount of $2,000.

Freshman Leadership Scholarships

The Alabama Girls and Boys State Scholarship

  • $1,000 Non-Renewable
  • Requires student to be unconditionally admitted with at least a 3.0 GPA/4.0 scale
  • Must be or have been a participant & attendee of Alabama Girls  State Program or Alabama Boys State Program

Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Scholarship

  • $1,000 Non-renewable
  • Requires student to be unconditionally admitted to TROY with at least a 3.0 GPA/4.0 scale
  • Must be or have been a participant & attendee of the HOBY Conference at TROY

Lion's Club Scholarship

  • $1,000 awarded to high school seniors who represented their high school as a participant at the Lion's Club Leadership Conference
  • Applicants must be unconditionally admitted to TROY with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA

Out-of-State Scholarship

The Trojan Opportunity Expanded Scholarship

  • The amount of this award is equal to the out-of-state portion of tuition costs.
  • Applicants must be from out-of-state

Transfer Scholarships

The ONETROY Transfer Scholarship

Applicants must have completed at least 45 hours of transferrable (non-technical, non-remedial) academic credit. Students must enroll in at least 12 hours each semester to maintain eligibility.

  • Students with a 2.50 - 2.74 GPA are eligible for $1,000/year for 2 years (4 semesters).
  • Students with a 2.75 - 2.99 GPA are eligible for $2,000/year for 2 years (4 semesters).
  • Students with a 3.00 - 3.49 GPA are eligible for $3,000/year for 2 years (4 semesters).
  • Students with a 3.50 + GPA are eligible for $4,000/year for 2 years (4 semesters). 

Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship

  • $5,000/year for 2 years.
  • Applicant must be a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
  • Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from PTK college advisor or their PTK certificate.
  • This scholarship is competitive and only students who submit an application will be considered.
  • Students are not eligible to stack this scholarship with other TROY Transfer Scholarships. 

The Transfer Presidential Scholarship

Beginning Fall of 2024, 好色先生TV is proud to offer and award The Transfer Presidential Scholarship to the most commendable transfer students from the Alabama Community College System. This scholarship will allow each Community College President in the State of Alabama to select one student to receive a $12,000 per academic year tuition-only scholarship for 2 years, excluding summer. To qualify, each student must be an Alabama resident and have completed at least 45 transferrable credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.5. The student must maintain full-time enrollment status and an institutional (TROY) GPA of 3.0. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship or tuition assistance awarded by 好色先生TV.

Foundation Scholarships

Foundation Scholarships are generously donated to the University at various amounts with various requirements per the donors' discretion. Each applicant is allowed to apply for multiple Foundation Scholarships, with the possibility of being awarded only one. Foundation Scholarships are available for new and current students.

  • The amount of these scholarships vary
  • These scholarships, unless otherwise specified, are for one academic year
  • The application deadline for Troy Campus Foundation Scholarships is March 1. All other deadlines are listed in the TROY Scholarship Portal.

Online Learner Scholarships

TROY offers several scholarships specifically for Online Learners that need assistance with tuition. Awards may be based on merit, earned transfer credit, military affiliation, or corporate partnership.

Music & Band Scholarships

A variety of music, band and choir scholarships are available to a select group of students. Students interested in these opportunities must complete a scholarship application through AcademicWorks and complete an audition to receive consideration for these scholarships. A variety of theatre and dance scholarships are available to a select group of students wanting to participate in TROY's Department of Theatre and Dance. Test Scores & Deadlines

ACT/SAT Scores

  • Not required for admission.
  • Recommended for maximizing scholarship opportunities.
  • Minimum score for freshman scholarships: 20 ACT or 1030 SAT and a 3.0 GPA.

Merit Scholarships

  • Awarded based on high school academic merit
  • Application opens: September 1st (annually)
  • Application closes: December 1st (annually)
  • Test scores recommended for maximizing award value.

Foundation Scholarships 

  • Application opens: January 1st (annually)
  • Application closes: March 1st (annually)
  • Awarded based on donor's criteria
  • Requirements vary based on donor criteria.

Foundation Scholarships

Foundation Scholarships are generously donated to the University at various amounts with various requirements per the donors' discretion. Each applicant is allowed to apply for as many Foundation Scholarships as they would like, with the possibility of being awarded only one.

General Scholarships

Graduate Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to encourage students from outside of Alabama to pursue graduate work at Troy's Alabama campuses. Recipients must be 鈥渦nconditionally鈥 admitted to the graduate school. The scholarship will waive out-of-state tuition, but recipients must still pay at least the full rate of in-state tuition. Students must maintain a 3.10 cumulative grade (at the time of scholarship renewal) point average to continue to receive the scholarship and must enroll in a minimum of nine hours per semester or six hours per term. At any point a recipient is 鈥渟uspended鈥 from the graduate school, the scholarship if forfeited.

* This scholarship will provide the student up to $7,500 annually (two semesters, based on 9 credits enrolled per semester). *

Graduate Assistantships

These assistantships enable eligible graduate students to receive financial support in exchange for working twenty hours per week in an academic department.

  • Each student receives payments from their specific academic department, plus tuition assistance.
  • These Assistantships are extremely competitive and are awarded by departments throughout the University.
  • Students must complete a scholarship application in the Scholarship Portal and also an employment application

International Scholarships

Named in memory of the late Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, the first recipient of the James F. Rinehart Memorial Scholarship has been announced.

好色先生TV a regionally accredited university offers numerous scholarship and financial aid options to students around the world.

 

Military & Family Scholarship

The TROY Military and Family Scholarship was introduced to further demonstrate the University's commitment those who serve and those who support those who serve. It is also an important vehicle through which 好色先生TV can express a meaningful 鈥渢hank you for your service鈥. The Scholarship represents significant value and underlines the University's commitment to making higher education more affordable for our nation's military affiliated students.

  • Reduces tuition to $250 per credit hour for currently serving members of the military, the National Guard, the Reserves and their spouses and college age dependents.
  • Students must be either Applicants or Enrolled Students to be eligible.
  • Service members need not submit an application for the scholarship (the military TA form will serve as the application). Members who have exhausted their military TA funding or decide not to utilize TA funding, should request the scholarship via email to fosterc@troy.edu
  • The Scholarship is applicable to Undergraduate and Graduate level studies.
  • Scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.0 Cumulative GPA at the Undergraduate level and a 3.0 GPA at the Graduate level.
  • Scholarship recipients must resubmit the required certification letter each year. 

OneTROY Transfer Scholarship

The ONETROY Transfer Scholarship

Applicants must have completed at least 24 hours of transferrable (non-technical, non-remedial) academic credit. Students must enroll in at least 6 hours each term to maintain eligibility.

  • Students with a 2.50 - 2.74 GPA are eligible for $1,000/ year for 2 years (8 terms). 
  • Students with a 2.75 - 2.99 GPA are eligible for $2,000/year for 2 years (8 terms). 
  • Students with a 3.00 - 3.49 GPA are eligible for $3,000/year for 2 years (8 terms). 
  • Students with a 3.50 + GPA are eligible for $4,000/year for 2 years (8 terms). 

Graduate - Foreign Service Officers Scholarship

The TROY Foreign Service Officers (FSO) Scholarship was introduced to further demonstrate the University's commitment to those who serve and support American diplomatic efforts and are unable to maintain continuous in-class enrollment at a local institution due to work and travel commitments. It is also an important vehicle through which Troy University can express a meaningful 鈥渢hank you for your service鈥. The Scholarship represents significant value and underlines the University's commitment to making higher education more affordable for our nation's military affiliated students.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must meet the following:

  • Must be currently serving in the active or reserve component of the US military

or

  • Must be the spouse or dependent child of a currently serving service member, including National Guard and Reserves.
  • Enrollment Status: Applicant or Enrolled at any 好色先生TV location
  • Degree program level: Associate, Undergraduate, or Graduate.
  • Service members need not submit an application for the scholarship (the military TA form will serve as the application).  Members who have exhausted their military TA funding or decide not to utilize TA funding, should request the scholarship via email to fosterc@troy.edu. All eligibility requirements and award details for the TROY Military & Family Scholarship apply to service members.
  • Must complete Verification of Spouse or Dependent Status form in the Scholarship Portal prior to the start of the semester/term. Re-validation will be required each year not later than July, 31 to maintain scholarship. Download "Request for Verification of Spouse or Dependent Status" Form.
  • Maintain a 2.0 Cumulative GPA at the Undergraduate level or a 3.0 Cumulative GPA at the Graduate level throughout the degree program.
Award Details
  • This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship or tuition assistance awarded by 好色先生TV, VA Benefits (exception VA 1606/1607), or certain State benefits.
  • Amount of award will be dependent on the number of credit hours the scholarship recipient registers for each semester or term.
  • Amount of award will not exceed the credit hour requirements of the  student's initial program. Should the student change their degree program, they will be held to their original degree programs credit hour requirement.
  • Scholarship can only be used toward one degree at each level (one associate's, one bachelor's degree, and one master's degree).
